My Oh My

Oh dear its been quite awhile since i've blogged on this here thing. Sooooo much has happened since then. We opened an Italian Ice Shop, moved my mother's mother to tn, and we will soon be moving my brother-in-law and my sister here too. Of course, tons more has happened but its too much work to think about them AND type them out.
This past weekend Jon, Jeff, and Laura Byerly came down to stay with us and build a room downstairs for Em and Tom. I have since been informed that we are no longer doing this, but seeing its the Rogers and the Byerlys, our "well-thought-out" plans will probably change several times before finish reading this blog. lol i love our familys. Sunday we made our way to church only to find out half-way there that church was canceled because of the snow. We proceeded to go home and i got to go out in the blizzard and stack wood..i actually like doing that..strange huh?? we stayed home and catherine made cookies and i ate them all..well not all of them, but as many as i possible could before jeff got to them. :) you gotta be quick when these guys are around..
on monday we really didn't do much except for school and housework. then that evening we made our way-slowly-to play practice..only to arrive and see an empty, dark, lonely parking lot.. as mom was turning around she did a doughnut in the snowy parking lot..loads of fun!! Then, to top the evening off, they dropped us off at work and parked in the garage at dave kirk..its kinda ironic when your chevy breaks down in the garage of a closed chevy dealership.. za, cat, and i in turn crawled under the suburban and hit the starter with a stapler but alas, it was to no avail. then our nice friend micah came and hit it with a hammer and voila..it started..my mother then proceeded to walmart and turned off the car..once again micah came to the rescue and sternly told us not to turn off the car until we arrived at our house for the night. we wisely obeyed..
today we tried to get to work once again and we couldn't make it up the road..hopefully our boss doesn't kill us, or worse, fire us..:) at this moment i am listening jeff relate his stories of the good ole border patrol days..its actually pretty interesting so i'm going to bring this to a close..goodnight all and until next time..

Jesus How Could You Have Loved Me So?

It dosen't take a genius to know that we don't deserve Him, but strangly enough, its the genius' who can't admit that we do need Him.

Sometimes I sit and think of all the wrongs I've done. So many I can't begin to tell, the hurt, the pain that I have caused. I truly deserve to be in hell. I fell as far as a man could surely fall. I did everything I could to hurt your name, I caused many tears to fall down from your eyes. Oh, but Jesus you love me still the same.

CHORUS
Jesus, How could You have loved me so. When in sin I sank so very low, I did every wrong I could, and nothing that I should. Jesus, How could You have love me so?

VERSE 2
I've critizesed, I've murmered, and complained. I've lied, I've cheated, and decieved. I've broken every one of your great laws. And many times the Spirit I have greived. So I can't understand why a holy God as you, Would even take the time to hear a prayer from me. But still you took the time to complete salvations plan. So forever in heaven I can be.

CHORUS
Jesus, How could You have loved me so. When in sin I sank so very low, I did every wrong I could, and nothing that I should.Jesus, How could You have love me so?

TAG
Jesus, How could You have loved me so?

Eliza and Bex in the Kitchen

Saturday the 28th started out strange to begin with. I woke up in the guest bedroom and had no idea where i was. Then I found out my mother was gone to the BB gun pre-state match with Susannah and Abby. Then I learned that Jon had to take Catherine to work. So Eliza, Anna, and I were home all alone with no idea how we were going to spend our Saturday morning. Jon soon remedied that when he called to tell us to make a cake for our mother's birthday. He had bought cake mix, frosting, and watermelon-flavored sprinkles. (I didn't even kno they made flavored sprinkles) So, with no further ado, Eliza and I set to work. We split the two boxes between the two round cake pans and put them in the oven. About ten minutes later Eliza casually sniffed the air and asked,
"Do you smell something burning?"
We hurried over to the oven and cautiously opened the door. Smoke poured out and surrounded us. After I opened the door to the deck and the air had cleared we surveyed the damage. The cake pans had overflowed and the batter was dripping down to the bottom of the oven. We pulled out the pans and set them on the countertop. I went over to the trash can and took out the box. I then saw our mistake. We had put two cakes worth of batter into each pan! We had enough batter to make four cakes!! Just then Jon walked in. We explained what had happened and he said it was the last time he would ask us to make anything again. He had wanted Catherine to do it the night before while he and mom were out but he had forgotten.
We scooped out the extra batter from the cake pans, decided we would clean up the oven when the cakes were done, and stuck them back into the oven. Jon was on the phone talking to dad and we were cleaning the kitchen when all of a sudden he yelled out,
"Girls, fire!!"
The oven had a nice big fire started in it from where the cake had dripped. We quickly pulled out the pans, turned off the oven and tried to put the fire out. Eliza and i thought we should blow on it but when Jon looked at us like we were from a different planet we shut up. Jon told me to go tell dad that everything was fine and that he was taking care of it. I hurried over to the phone and tried to do just that but my dad didn't fall for it.
"Whats this about a fire? What happened?" he asked.
"Well, eliza and i were making a cake" i started
I couldn't even get the rest of my sentence out when he burst out laughing. Between chuckles he told me to make sure we didn't put water on it. I looked up just in time to see Jon about to do just that. He was holding a rag dripping with water and was about to throw it on the fire with Eliza looking on. I yelled,
"Stop!!! Dad said you shouldn't do that."
Jon came over and took the phone and asked if he could call dad back after we had put it out. Then he came over and shut the oven door. Of course the fire then went out. Eliza and I looked at him with shining eyes. Our Hero!! He looked at us for a few seconds, shook his head, and told us to finish cleaning and make sure we cleaned the bottom of the oven BEFORE we put the cakes back in. One fire and a lot of icing and sprinkles later, we had a beautiful cake on our hands. Eliza told my mom about it after we went to bed and the next day my mother told just about everybody at church. Catherine told everybody else.
Sunday was normal enough. This time Abby was sick and Jon had to stay home with her. After church I learned that once again we were going to the Browns. I hopped into the drivers seat in their van and informed those who were in there that I was driving them home. I then proceeded to break the the steering wheel. (i actually just adjusted it but i didn't kno that and i was freaking out until Anna B. reached around me and fixed it) Then David came out and waved the keys at me and then stuck them in his pocket, laughing at me the whole time. Mr. Brown came up and asked me just what in the world i was doing. I informed him that i was his chauffeur for the day and that we would be taking the senic route home. He, the good police officer that he is, asked to see my drivers license and registration. I told him that i had forgotten it but he said that you needed to have your drivers license and registration on you at all times when operating a motorized vehicle. He wouldn't give me a break and when David threatened to take me home with them i quickly slid out.
We went home and took care of the livestock and then went on to the Browns. Once we got there i hardly had time to say hello to Mrs. Brown before i was being swept along upstairs to recieve my airsoft gun and ammunition.(slight exaggeration) Then Ben, Stephen, Eliza, and I all went outside. It was almost dark and pretty wet outside. The boys decided they wouldn't give me safety glasses because they were such good shotsand would never hit me in the face. After being shot at several times we finally went back inside. I pulled out my graph notebook and commenced to design. We upheld our tradition and left at about 11. That night i noticed about ten welts all over my legs from our totally unfair war.
Till next time

Why Me????

Well, so far this week has been super busy!! sunday started out normal until we found out that Eliza had pink eye and couldn't go to church. Of course, Eliza was to scared to stay home alone by herself so my dad had to stay with her and then they met Jon at church and Dad headed off to PA and Jon and Eliza went home.
After church i found out that we were going home and then going to the Brown's ( a family at our church) to visit for a while. Susannah and Abby were gonna go with the Browns and mom and I were gonna go home first. Change of plans. Valerie wanted me to go home with her so off we went. I got to meet their granny and when Mr. Brown asked her how old she thought i was. She said Valerie's age and Valeries 24!!!!! When everyone started laughing she asked if i was around 15 and i quickly told her yes.
When we finally got to the Browns house Ben, Valerie and I made ice cream. It was amazing!!! When it got dark Valerie and i went out to spin. Then we got on the merry-go-round and spun ourselves but we wanted to go faster so we went and got David and Stephen to spin us. OMW!!! they spun us so fast and we felt sooo sick afterwards. Then we went inside and talked till valerie had to home (she lives with her great great aunt) My mom got there at like 8:00 and her and Mrs. Brown got to chatting. At around ten i was soooo tired. Ben tried to keep me awake and he gave me an energy drink but it really didn't help. At around 11 they finally noticed me falling asleep at the table and my mother took pity and we finally said our goodbyes and left. I didn't want to go back for quite a while.
Monday evening we went to a Bible Study at Calvary and we left right afterwards and i went to bed asap..i was so tired from staying up late the night before.
Tuesday started out normal (notice a pattern here???) and i decided to go to bb gun with my little sisters. Well, at around 10 a.m. my mom told me we were going to help plant potatoes with the Browns. At first i could only think of Sunday but when mom told me we were doing it at Tommy's house ( he's one of the Browns but he's at college) i was cool with it. Then i got there and had a lot of fun with Ben (until Stephen told me that the fertilizer smelled really good and me, the unsuspected poor soul that i am, took a huge whiff of it. i was never the same again. lol) After that i got ready to leave with my mom but she wanted me to go with Mrs. Brown and help her out. I went along willingly because my mother said she was gonna take the kids to bb gun and when it was over drop Anna Brown off, pick me up, and we were all gonna go home. It seemed like a plan. I went and i made brownies and helped out around the house. My mom got back at around 9 and she said we were gonna leave pretty soon but they wanted to talk for a little while. WHATEVER!!!!!! if your mother ever tells you that and if shes anything like mine, don't believe her!!! While we were waiting we went up stairs and i found Ben's airsoft gun. hehehehe don't worry, whenever i hit someone, it was because i was trying to get the stupid thing to work and i wasn't watching where i was pointing it...well...most of the time. lol After a while we got bored and went outside to go on the merry-go-round ( i never seem to learn from my mistakes). Stephen and Ben pushed us till i almost fell off.(gracefully, of course.)lol Then Stephen dropped his thingy for his gun and we looked for that for a while. We finally gave up and we all went quietly inside..well until Stephen shot me with a rubberband for shooting him earlier. It was an accident. I swear!!!! Then it was war..lol. I ran and got Ben's gun and Stephen went and got his other gun. I ran up to the bedroom to get pellets or whatever you call them and he cornered me and shot at the floor next to my feet. then he finally hit me and then shut me up in the room. Finally i got out and chased him throughout the house to the basement stairs where i hit him and he hit me...he's such a loser and i told him as much but my mom said to be nice. Is it still being mean when you say it sarcastically??? After a while we went back outside and now David was home so all three of the boys pushed us on the merry-go-round. once again i almost fell off through the opening in between the bars and they finally stopped. At around 10 we got all of our stuff together and went home. I was so tired once again and all i could think of on the way home was "Why Me??" not that i have anything against the Browns of course, they're tons of fun to be with. It was only that i was going to be in bed later then eleven once again..sigh. Oh well, thats life i guess.
Now i have to go get ready to go to church and guess who I'll see there, the Browns!!!! lol Well, i guess i'll ttyl

KFC News

Friday night Hannah and Charity Miller, Margaret Brown, and Eliza, Catherine, Susannah and I all had a wonderful time at my house. We went riding together and made a movie. We did a talkshow on the effects that cowtipping has on global warming and Margaret was an amazing KFC news anchor and Hannah was Bob, the man who assured us that cowtipping really does have an effect on the warming of the globe. Catherine was the professional cowtipper who was wondering were all the heat and energy that went into tipping a cow went. She decided that it must be global warming. Then we did a commercial about the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious network...the song goes "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, even though the sound of it is something quite atrosicous! You will never drop a call from someone whos precocious! Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!! Its the network! We also did a commercial about the movie Oklahoma and Eliza tried to do the part of the saleswoman but after messing up about 4 times she finally cracked and Hannah took over. Hannah only messed up once when she couldn't remember what her promotional line was. lol Then KFC news returned to discuss the origin of rednecks. Bob let us know that when he thought of rednecks he thought of something earthy, sometimes muddy, with a beatup pickup truck full of garbage and a beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Eliza was Geraldine, the rednecker who kept her Christmas lights on her front porch all year long and who had a plow in the middle of her front yard with cute little bunny rabbits all over it. :) We had to do that scene over about five times because Margaret couldn't stop laughing. When we finally decided to do it only once more she still laughed when she introduced Geraldine. Next time we get together we are gonna do The Phantom of the Opera. That should be funny. until next time
